OSTEOPATHIC FITNESS® is designed to evaluate and treat muscular imbalances so that you can train to excel and get fit with maximum results in minimum time.
OSTEOPATHIC FITNESS® has taken the basic components of physiology and bio-mechanics and transferred them into a systematic approach; AXIS CORE® METHOD, for evaluating and treating the bio-mechanical relationships relating to fitness, health, chronic pain or injury in order for you to maximize results and get fit.
The personal training professional evaluation and treatment procedures developed by the OSTEOPATHIC FITNESS® program are based upon the premise of strength, balance and efficiency and restoring the capability of muscles to support the human body for overall sustainable fitness and results.
When a muscle has been traumatized, and/or overcompensation has altered feedback from the nervous system, there is a reduced capability for the muscle to contract as it moves into the shortened position. This information has become the foundation to both the personal training professional evaluation and treatment processes related to OSTEOPATHIC FITNESS®.
The personal training professional system goal is to determine whether or not specific muscles that support a joint have the proper stability and flexibility necessary to perform its function.
Whether acting as a prime mover, synergist or stabilizer, each muscle must be capable of performing its function as forces are being placed upon a joint. If a muscle does not have proper stability and flexibility, then it will not be able to perform its function efficiently and this leads to positions of vulnerability preventing an ability to train to excel, get fit and the results you want.
